NYC Older Adult Hiring Hall: Employers Looking For Experienced Workers Will Connect With Older New Yorkers Across City In Brooklyn
Share
Editor’s note: A recent survey based study released by Department for the Aging showed that a staggering number of older adult New Yorkers struggle financially. It’s difficult for many of them, who are usually on a fixed retirement income, to afford the basic necessities of living – including food, shelter, and Healthcare.
On Wednesday, March 11, the New York City Department for the Aging (NYC Aging) will host Talent Connect: Hiring Hall, connecting older New Yorkers with employers actively seeking experienced workers. The event will bring together businesses from a range of industries with jobseekers age 55 and older who are ready to re-enter the workforce or explore new career opportunities.
Employers will share information about open positions, speak directly with candidates, and conduct on-site interviews. NYC Aging staff will also be available to share information about workforce programs and resources that help older adults build skills, navigate career transitions, and remain active in the workforce.
Talent Connect reflects NYC Aging’s commitment to supporting economic security and expanding opportunities for older New Yorkers who want to work. As New York City’s population ages, initiatives like Hiring Hall help ensure that experienced workers remain visible, valued, and connected to opportunity.
Media Opportunities: Reporters will be able to speak with NYC Aging leadership, participating employers, and older New Yorkers attending the Hiring Hall about workforce opportunities, economic security, and the value of experienced workers in today’s labor market.
Happening next week: Wednesday, March 11, 12:00 PM – 3:00 PM
Brooklyn Public Library Central Branch, 10 Grand Army Plaza, Brooklyn, NY 11238
