NYC Pothole Blitz Kicks Off Tomorrow With Repair Crews In Harlem

Share

NYC Department of Transportation Commissioner Ydanis Rodriguez will join a DOT Roadways crew as it repairs potholes on a residential street in Harlem, as part of the agency’s second weekend pothole blitz of the spring season.  (DOT’s first pothole blitz on April 9 resulted in over 6,200 pothole repairs.)

Tomorrow, DOT will deploy 75 crews Citywide, filling potholes that were the subject of 311 complaints — as well as others they encounter.

Potholes are more prevalent in spring, as pavement undergoes more frequent

freeze-and-thaw cycles.  To prevent potholes, the Adams Administration has

budgeted $2.990 billion dollars for resurfacing; a baselined amount of 1,150 lane

miles per year in this Ten Year Capital Plan (through FY31).

New Yorkers who spot a pothole should contact 311.  Average response time is under three days
