Senator Andrew J. Lanza Hosts Annual “There Ought To Be A Law” Contest

Senator Andrew Lanza sponsored his annual “There Ought To Be A Law” Contest to award 5th grade students for submitting valued legislative proposals that seek to address issues that they feel are present within their community. This contest commemorates students across Staten Island for their excellent work, creativity, and passion to improve Staten Island and the State of New York.

Students from schools throughout Staten Island took part in this annual law contest where ideas ranged from putting an end to bullying, addressing toll costs, public safety, animal safety and more. Each participating school sent their submissions to the office of Senator Lanza where winners were selected. Those selected were recognized at a ceremony on Wednesday, December 18th at 4pm at P.S. 32.
