Staten Islanders, New Yorkers Reeling From NY Knicks Surprise Loss To Indiana Pacers

Editor’s note: According to ESPN reporting on this game

With just under three minutes to play and with the roar of their Madison Square Garden crowd behind them, the Knicks led the Indiana Pacers by 14 points. But through an array of defensive mistakes and costly turnovers, they lost in overtime 138-135 to open the Eastern Conference finals on the sourest of notes.

By their own admission, the defeat stemmed from the Knicks failing to run through the finish line.

“Defensively, we let off the gas. The intensity and physicality weren’t there,” wing Josh Hart said. “Offensively, we were playing slower, and more stagnant. It looked like we were playing not to lose.”

Staten Islander previously provided details of a new international website and podcast show by College Football Dawgs, where fans can learn everything they want to know about their sports teams, games, wins, and more.

As a lifelong New Yorker and a proud Knicks fan, I felt the sting of last night’s Game 1 loss to the Pacers just as deeply as many of you did. Leading by 14 points with under three minutes to go, only to see the game slip away in overtime, was a tough pill to swallow. It was a historic collapse, marking the first time in 27 seasons that a team lost a playoff game after holding such a lead late in the fourth quarter .

The emotional toll was evident across our city. From the somber mood in coffee lines to the collective disbelief shared on social media, it felt like a shared nightmare.

But here’s the thing about New Yorkers: we don’t stay down. Jalen Brunson’s 43-point performance and Karl-Anthony Towns’ 35 points remind us of the talent and heart this team possesses . This series is far from over, and I have no doubt that the Knicks will regroup and come back stronger in Game 2.

Let’s continue to rally behind our team, showing them the unwavering support that defines us as fans and as a community. Together, we’ll rise above this setback and look forward to the victories ahead.

Let’s go Knicks! 🧡💙

I used to like seeing the Knicks more. I don’t like the Bk stadium. I said it. And that makes a difference. And I am born in Bk, live in Bk, love Bk. But the Garden was the hype. Can’t compare. And they talking now about knocking that all down. What a sad that that would be.

I used to also like the Hoosiers. College basketball used to be fun, too.

I haven’t checked into college basketball in ages.

Now what I remember was when IS 51 was the spot.

    “Basketball is my favorite sport
I like the way they dribble up and down the court..”
🎵 they plain basketball we play that bas-ket-ball~~🎵

Everyone would come from all over the city to play ball at Markham.

And that’s when hip hop was at it’s heights.

That IS 51 park was the meeting spot where Zulu Nation used to meet. Anyone remember Zulu?

Back when kids wore “beads” to show what hip hop crew they were down with?

What about KAOS? I think ZULU was back-white, KAOS was RED-Black-White. Not so sure anymore. Too many times I get too drunk. Too many times sick with brain rotting covid. Too stressed to remember every detail anymore.
