What started as a small, fitness-focused studio on the North Shore of Staten Island has transformed into a thriving, multifaceted business that celebrates its 10th anniversary with a truly epic gathering. DJ Got Me Fit (DJGMF) did not only open its doors a decade ago but also welcomed the community into its anniversary celebration that was anything but ordinary.
What was once a humble party for your body has evolved into an inclusive experience, offering everything from fitness classes to kids’ birthday parties, corporate events, and much more. The original concept of two cousins, Donny Brandefine and Johnny Lamberti, DJGMF initially began as a fitness studio that specialized in group classes and personal training. But within less than a year, the duo saw an opportunity to expand, adding kids’ birthday parties to their repertoire.
As their success grew, Donny and Johnny decided to partner with Gabrielle Burfeind and Alex Coldoanto to take DJGMF to the next level, transforming it into a franchise brand. They already have opened 3 locations in the state of NJ during their first 10 years. With their combined vision, the business blossomed, and they soon opened a second location on the South Shore of Staten Island. This marked the beginning of the studio’s incredible evolution into the dynamic enterprise it is today.
From fitness training to custom-themed kids’ parties, DJGMF now offers a wide range of services that include milestone events, religious celebrations, gender reveals, and graduations. And it doesn’t stop there—the business also hosts class trips, workshops like Glowga and BinGLOW, creative events such as Paint & Sip, and even unique activities like sourdough bread lessons. With a full calendar of events every month, DJGMF continues to inspire and engage the local community in exciting ways.
What truly sets DJGMF apart, however, is their unwavering commitment to giving back. The business consistently supports local charities and corporate causes with initiatives like annual pajama drives, sneaker collections, food donations, and toy drives. “They always treat you how they would like to be treated, and that is with nothing less than class,” said one local resident. “They never turn down a opportunity to give back, whether it is volunteering or donating, and that is what brought me here toda. I was given the opportunity to show appreciation back to a a business that demonstrates what a true Staten Island neighbor is.”
Even during the most challenging times, DJGMF has remained resilient. When fitness gyms were among the last businesses mandated to close during the pandemic, the team quickly adapted. Hosting virtual fitness sessions, drive-by party celebrations, and even joining forces with local businesses to challenge the vaccine mandate, DJGMF showed their commitment to both their business and the community.
The 10-year anniversary celebration, held at the luxurious Eve Ulta Lounge, is a fitting tribute to the business’ incredible journey. Attendees will be treated to a unique, immersive experience that showcases everything DJGMF offers, and way more guests have the opportunity to participate in everything, from a fitness class to wellness treatments, pineapple smoothies and shopping vendors. Guests are also offered a chance for chiropractic adjustments, liquid IV treatments, and smoothies served in pineapples, all while being energized by the lively atmosphere and music from E2 Productions.
Local businesses, including Living Water Mamas, generously sponsored the event, providing water for the festivities. Fitness segments led by popular staff members and guest trainers give attendees a taste of the studio’s diverse offerings, leaving everyone feeling empowered and inspired.
The anniversary event is not only a celebration of 10 years of growth and success, but also a testament to the love and support the DJGMF community has built over the years. Fitness members, families, and local businesses all coming together to celebrate a business that’s been more than just a fitness studio; it’s a place that brings people together.
DJ Got Me Fit has proven that when passion meets determination, anything is possible. They say this could not have been done alone and that it truly took a village. So for everyone who they never had the chance to say the actual words thank you to, they wish to express their gratitude now.
