STAR 99.1’s Enchanted Evening marks five years of celebrating father-daughter bonds

Editor’s note: Last year we also covered the Daddy Daughter Dance, with many Staten Islanders represented. Recently, the Star 99.1 family hired a brand new programming director who will have a large part in crafting what listeners hear on this local New Jersey station.  Daddy Daughter Dances continue to also be hosted by some Girl Scout troops in the area as well, as Princess and her FROG (Father, Relative or Older Gentleman)  events.

SOMERSET, N.J. — More than 400 dads and daughters gathered at Pines Manor on Aug. 21 for the fifth annual Enchanted Evening by STAR 99.1 (WAWZ) to grow and strengthen their bond through music, activities and intentional time together.

The sold-out daddy-daughter dance invited dads, father figures and their daughters to an evening designed to celebrate one of life’s most formative relationships while creating memories they’ll cherish for years to come.

Guests enjoyed a variety of activities, including flower crown creation, pouch accessorizing, meet-and-greets with princesses, photo booths, a 360-degree video booth, temporary tattoos, red carpet photos, and sponsor booths with enter-to-win prizes.

Kristen James and Chad Mitchell of STAR 99.1 joined the celebration, which also included a devotional led by Pastor Andrew Sudhin of Cornerstone Fellowship Church in Plainsboro, N.J. Sudhin, who also owns sponsor companies Mended Properties and Glass Doctor, was joined by his teenage daughter, Ariana, as the two led the dads and daughters in prayer.

“The Daddy-Daughter Dance was a tremendous success, celebrating the beautiful and lasting bond between fathers and daughters,” said Kieron Goring, events coordinator at STAR 99.1. “Dressed like princesses, each daughter enjoyed a magical evening alongside their fathers, filled with love, laughter and cherished moments that will last a lifetime. A heartfelt thank-you to Pines Manor for graciously hosting this special event, and to our dedicated staff, volunteers and generous sponsors whose support helped make the evening unforgettable. Together, we created memories that families will treasure for years to come.”

“Daddy Daughter Day was awesome,” said Hiram Rodriguez of Staten Island, N.Y. “I really appreciate you giving us dads a place where we can pause life and enjoy the beauty of spending quality time with our daughters. Days like this don’t happen without a lot of effort behind the scenes, so thank you for putting it together. Looking forward to the next one.”

This event was made possible thanks to local sponsors Mended Properties and Glass Doctor. A special thanks to the STAR 99.1 ALL STAR Volunteer Team and Pillar Media staff members who helped make this a night to remember.
